INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT TRANSPORT
Machinery and equipment transport built around the load.
Shipping a machine starts well before a truck arrives. The equipment’s working dimensions, travel configuration, lifting points, loading access and securement plan determine the type of transportation that makes sense.
A freight plan that fits the shipment
2A Logistics helps businesses evaluate transportation options for machinery, industrial components and equipment moves. Depending on size and loading needs, a flatbed, step deck, specialized trailer or enclosed truck may be appropriate.
Common reasons shippers use this service
Plant and facility moves
Transport individually prepared machines or line components between manufacturers, service shops, warehouses and facilities.
New or used equipment purchases
Coordinate vendor pickup and delivery with release contacts, pickup appointments and any dismantling requirements.
Crated precision equipment
Assess whether a machine or component should travel enclosed or on an open deck based on its packaging and protection requirements.
Details that make a difference
Travel configuration
Measurements should reflect the prepared-to-ship machine, including attachments, guards, projections and any transport cradle.
Loading equipment
Identify crane capacity, forklift pockets, rigging points, ramp limitations and whether a professional rigger is required.
Securement and risk
Provide shipping instructions, tie-down points, center-of-gravity details where relevant, and agreed protection or insurance requirements.
What to include in your quote request
Sending complete shipment details helps us evaluate appropriate capacity and avoids unnecessary back-and-forth. Include as much of the following as you have:
- Make/model and photos or dimensional drawing
- Prepared-to-ship length, width, height and weight
- Skid, crate, base or attachment details
- Available crane, forklift or rigging at both sites
- Declared value and special handling expectations
- Required pickup/delivery date and site access
Have an unusual requirement or incomplete specifications? Explain what you know, and we’ll work through the outstanding details with you.
Frequently asked questions
Can you transport a CNC machine?
We can evaluate CNC and other industrial machinery moves once the prepared dimensions, weight, loading plan and protection needs are known.
Do you arrange rigging?
Tell us whether the shipper or receiver has qualified riggers. Any needed third-party rigging services should be discussed explicitly rather than assumed to be included.
What if the machine is oversize?
Provide the true loaded dimensions and pickup/delivery constraints so the appropriate specialized equipment and permit requirements can be assessed.
